ASG TAC-6 CO2 Rifle – A Lightweight Tactical Rifle That Has It All

Updated: May 27, 2025

The TAC-6 CO2 air rifle is a lightweight semi-automatic platform that blends tactical aesthetics, user-friendly features, and functional performance in one sleek package. Out of the box, it comes with multiple built-in accessories and offers extensive modularity, making it ideal for tactical shooting practice and training.

Powered by CO2, the TAC-6 is capable of maintaining consistent performance across a broader temperature range, offering a wider velocity spectrum than standard gas-powered rifles. It features a pistol-style grip with anti-slip texturing

and finger grooves for superior ergonomics. The CO2 cartridge is housed within the grip, allowing for a well-balanced weight distribution across the entire rifle.

and a spring catch to hold the follower, making it easy to reload. Its lightweight design means you can carry multiple magazines without burden.

A full-length Picatinny top rail provides ample room for optics and other accessories. Meanwhile, a bottom rail is ready for mounting bipods, tactical lights, or grips. The handguard also features mock M-LOK-style side slots, offering more mounting flexibility.

while the adjustable rear sight helps with precise zeroing. Additionally, the rifle is equipped with an integrated red laser under the barrel, ideal for quick target acquisition during drills.

Its unique bridge-style skeleton stock offers a stable shoulder mount, and the rubberized buttpad ensures comfort during extended sessions without compromising feedback.

Why the TAC-6 Excels in Tactical Shooting Practice

  1. 300mm Inner Barrel

Its barrel length is between that of a standard rifle and a CQB carbine, making it perfectly suited for modern urban or tactical environments.

  2. No Hop-Up, but Tight Bore

While it lacks a hop-up system, it utilizes a tight 6.01mm bore barrel. This allows users to train their aim based on shot feedback alone—great for developing instinctive shooting accuracy.

  3. CO2 Power Advantage

    Install the CO2

While not mainstream in Asia, CO2 is widely adopted in the West and gaining popularity in colder regions like Korea and Japan. It delivers more consistent output in low temperatures compared to traditional green gas.

  4. Adjustable Velocity Screw

Our version of the TAC-6 features a rear velocity adjustment screw behind the gas chamber, allowing users to fine-tune the rifle to comply with local laws or seasonal changes—great for both summer and winter use.

  5. Built-in Laser Module (Uses AG3/LR41/SR41/L736F batteries.)

The red laser is compact and easily operated with a single button. It can also be quickly detached for battery replacement or calibration—simple and convenient.

  6. Weighs Only 2.2kg (with Bipod!)

Even with a bipod attached, the TAC-6 is incredibly lightweight. This makes it perfect for dynamic movement drills or long practice sessions, and the included bipod also enhances stability for static shooting.

Maintenance-Friendly and Designed with Practicality in Mind

Like any air rifle, the TAC-6 has wear-prone parts over time, such as O-rings. One known wear point is part #1-26, located at the junction between the gas chamber and barrel. Fortunately, the TAC-6 is designed for easy disassembly.

Disassemble into major components

Simply unscrew the barrel and remove two pins to access the internals.

To disassemble further:

  • Use a right-to-left motion to knock out 3 pins and separate the shell and core (watch out for the moving safety switch).

  • Unscrew the front end to extract the inner barrel.

  • Pull the barrel toward the gas chamber to remove it—be cautious of the recoil spring tension.

  • Remove 2 more screws to access the gas chamber. When splitting the chamber, be careful with small springs—especially part #1-26—as they may eject during disassembly.

Reassembly is straightforward with proper alignment and patience.

Two Known Issues (and Easy Fixes)

  1. Front Sight Alignment

    Front Sight Alignment

The red fiber optic front sight is not perfectly level after tightening, due to a rail channel that narrows at the front and widens at the rear. This allows it to wobble and lift slightly.

Apply a strip of black electrical tape (for aesthetics) along the inside of the rail.

Fix: Apply a strip of black electrical tape (for aesthetics) along the inside of the rail. Use a half-length strip at the rear for added grip. This prevents over-tightening and keeps the sight aligned.

  2. FPS Drop After Initial Shots

The first 5 shots may shoot hotter than subsequent ones.

Adjust the rear screw on the gas chamber based on ambient temperature and local regulations.

Fix: Adjust the rear screw on the gas chamber based on ambient temperature and local regulations. Loosen it two turns in colder climates with higher FPS allowance, or tighten it in warmer climates with stricter FPS limits.

Final Thoughts

The ASG TAC-6 isn’t designed to mimic military realism—it’s engineered with practical tactical training and air-powered performance in mind. It stands out as one of the few CO2 air rifles that are both lightweight and modern in design. Whether you're looking for a training platform, a target practice rifle, or an entry-level CO2 rifle, the TAC-6 is a solid and reliable choice.
